In addition to the required and elective adventures that each grade-level den completes in the scouting year, we have some fun with our whole K-5 pack, too! Here are some of the activities we do in a typical year.
Pinewood
Derby

The classic car race powered only by gravity! We provide the car kits and scouts can come to a hosted workshop or work with their families to cut, sand, paint, and engineer their vehicle to stay within 5 ounces, ready for competition! (Prizes are given for speed and creativity).
Campouts

Our pack does two campouts a year. A fall family camp at a campsite near Battleground, WA and a spring campout near the coast with other packs. Both are full of camping, cooking, scout skills, and a lot of fun.
Service Projects

Our pack is chartered by St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, and we are grateful for use of their parish hall for most of our pack and den meetings. As a thank-you, we convene a few times each year to clean up and maintain the courtyard garden at the church. Other service projects we do include packing sack lunches for Blanchet House (photo right) and stockings filled with gifts for veterans on Veteran’s Day.
Fishing

We take an annual fishing trip, everything provided: rods, bait, and cleaning. Licenses are not needed for children under 12, so it’s a perfect easy intro to the sport, or a great way for more experienced fisherscouts to introduce it to their friends!
